ABOUT THE ARTIST
Owner and Photographer Monica Kane Stewart
is a portrait and fine art photographer and mixed media artist who
resides in the North County coastal area of San Diego with her husband and children.
Monica comes highly recommended due to her artistic approach and skills as well as her
easy-going nature and her ability to put people at ease.
She photographs families, children, and teens in the surrounding Encinitas, Solana Beach,
Carmel Valley, Del Mar, Torrey Pines, and La Jolla areas. She also travels along the coast
for special assignments, as well as doing family and high school portrait photo shoots in the
San Jose and San Francisco Bay Area and surrounding hillside and coastal communities.
Have a special location? Just ask! You never know where we will be traveling!
For the last 25+ years, Monica has had a camera in hand and a passion for photography,
taking photos of everything and everyone and every place she could.
Over the last 5 years, she earned a degree in Visual Arts with honors,
and after many requests to contract her for taking their family photos in her
photo-journalistic "story-telling" style, she opened up 15th Street Photography
and has dedicated herself to professionally telling visual stories with her photos at
straightforward and very fair pricing.
Your memories deserve the care of a trained artist, not just anyone off a board or website.
Your images deserve to be treated and stored with ethics and trust.
Monica is skilled, ethical, trustworthy, artistic, fair, and fun to work with!
With her fun and relaxing nature, Monica is a natural working with kids through adults.
As a mother of three, volunteer in the schools and community, and as a professional in the
high tech workplace spanning 20 years of Network Requirements Management, Marketing,
Trade Shows as well as configuring routers, Monica is definitely a people person and
definitely a professional. Because of her nature and her training, she works with her clients
to understand their requirements, their needs, and most importantly, WHO THEY ARE.
She applies her painting and studio art skills to her photographs, knowing that she must
interact with her clients in order to accurately capture their true essence in a portrait,
understanding how light, composition, content, and environment effect an image.
Skills from photography to installation art to sculpture to painting are all relevant in
Monica's approach and style with her portraits. Add her knowledge of how to work with kids
and adults alike, and her business acumen, and your experience with 15th Street
Photography will be nothing but POSITIVE.
Monica's approach to portraiture is spontaneous with images that tell stories, in an attempt to capture the beauty of natural character, the interactions among individuals, as well as their interaction with their surrounding space, landscape, and situation. She also creates fine art photography, painted portrait commissions, & continues working with various mediums of art.
Please contact Monica with your project requirements, comments, or inquiries.
